Includes both Pain Management (Level 1) AND Sports Injury Management (Level 2)

The purpose of the Functional Integrated Needling Training Program is to provide a complete system to ensure clinicians can effectively assess, diagnose and manage a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including acute and chronic pain, as well as challenging and more difficult-to-treat sports injuries. The complete program is broken down into 2 levels/modules, which are described below.

Overview – Pain Management (Level 1)

The purpose of the Functional Integrated Needling (FIN) Pain Management Training Program is to develop the knowledge and clinical skills required to effectively diagnose and treat painful neuromuscular conditions using the FIN system. This training program has been designed to ensure clinicians will have a clear understanding of how dry needling works to manage pain at the local and central nervous system levels. Participants will be able to immediately use the FIN system as a clinically proven modality and be able to safely, comfortably and proficiently use dry needling to treat any body part (including face, TMJ, neck, shoulders, elbows, upper and lower back, groin, posterior hip, knee and ankle regions) for pain and neuromuscular conditions.

Overview – Sports Injury Management (Level 2)

The purpose of the Functional Integrated Needling Sports Injury Management Training Program is to develop the knowledge and clinical skills required to effectively diagnose and treat common, challenging and difficult-to treat sports injuries. This training program has been built upon Dr. Scappaticci’s extensive clinical experience managing sports injuries for NHL, NFL, NBA, NFL, MLB, and international Olympic athletes. This highly interactive and practical program reviews detailed functional anatomy and the pathomechanics of common sports injuries and is designed to ensure clinicians are able to employ 7 specialized needling techniques to improve outcomes for common but hard-to treat sports injuries such as lateral epicondylitis, adhesive capsulitis, patellar tendonitis, and tracking symptoms, groin injuries, mechanical low back pain, Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis.

Course Length

Each course is a separate 3-day intensive training program based on instruction and explanations that are understandable and easy to remember and includes extensive practice to ensure mastery. The program is split between classroom instruction, demonstration and extensive and intensive practical programming and, in order to make the best use of the workshop, some self study pre-workshop learning is also required. Hybrid options may be available, depending on location.

In addition to extensive use of lab and practice sessions, students participate in mastery evaluations and feedback sessions that provide an opportunity for students to determine what additional instruction is required for complete mastery.
