Functional Integrated Acupuncture Certificate Program – A Biomedical Approach:
Overview
This new Acupuncture program is designed by Dr. Mark Scappaticci and CMCC Continuing Education to comply with the acupuncture education standards of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). It is a unique blended learning program consisting of three modules built out of the extensive clinical experience of Dr. Scappaticci and his work with top performing athletes across professional and Olympic sports. The 200 hour program is comprised of lecture presentation, supervised practical lab work, assigned self study and assessments.
The first module is an online self-study module on the subject of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. The second and third modules are combined into intensive 3 two-day weekend sessions of supervised practical acupuncture and assessment, providing feedback to participants regarding their mastery of key concepts and techniques. Graduates of this program will be certified in the application of acupuncture and needling technique as an adjunctive therapy as per the standards and scope of practice for the learner’s health care discipline.
