What is Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) and what are the potential benefits?
This therapy involves providing an electric current in millionths of an ampere. The specific frequencies that are used have been shown to be especially effective at treating nerve and muscle pain, inflammation and scar tissue associated with acute and chronic injuries, myofascial pain and to support tendon and ligament repair.
What is involved?
Specific frequency protocols are applied depending on the condition. Patients need to be well hydrated prior when undergoing FSM and are advised to drink one quart of water one hour preceding treatment.
How does it work and why is it effective?
FSM works by applying an electric current that is on the same scale as the body naturally produces within each cell. By enhancing electric currents that already occur naturally in the body, FSM stimulates important cellular activity related to healing such as lymphatic flow, protein synthesis and tissue regeneration.
